Who we serve
Our target demographic is small, rural communities in the Philippines, who may not have the infrastructure necessary to get reliable electricity from the grid. These communities are usually farming communities, and as such will have irrigation systems in place that we could possibly place our microhydro turbines in.
As of 2016, GDP per capita in the Phillipines is $7240 and electricity generation per capita is at 870 kWh per capita. For contrast, the United States is at $53300 and 13.5 kWh per capita. This suggests that we should be looking at systems in the 1-100 kW range and at prices below what is generally commercially available in the U.S.

Due to monetary, logistical, and time constraints, we're still looking for a specific community in the Philippines to start this project with. We would most likely need to travel to the Philippines ourselves to find a community suited for our project, and our college student budgets prevent us from doing so at this time.
